WORDLE #171

For Sunday Whirl

SHADOWPLAY

In the hunt for innocence
blasts from hallowed pasts reveal
it takes skill to whack those doubts
but as the mystery unfolds
thrill seekers known to dabble
in shallow activities
center undue attention
on our guilt stained consciences

  1. I don't think mankind will have much luck searching for innocence, I don't think they have much concept of that anymore and wouldn't know if it stared them in the face. That is me speaking from an aloof attitude of course. However somebody has to keep beating the drum and why not you Stanski?

  2. Inner shadows are the hardest to ignore and repress..maybe for good reason...although am always up for a bit of thrill seeking..even if in words

  4. On some levels innocence is ignorance. We can't stay there forever, so why feel guilty for the loss of it? The guilt trippers in life like to play that card, maybe we are still too innocent to realize that? Really good write Stan,

  5. I possessed innocence once. I have much more fun now I've dumped it!

  6. The sweet innocence and abandon of my 3 yr old grandson is precious. Hate for him to learn he'll be whacking at his own doubts someday. I liked this poem a lot.
